There’s a space where you used to play,
But now all the children have gone away.
They’ve gone home to their others,
Grown up sparkling and met lovers.
Now they’re too big to come back.
You never wanted to be like that.
Grow up, grow old, maybe go flat.
You were gone when the trap sprung —
Catching only your memory, forever young.
Now that’s all I can see of you.
There’s a space where we used to play,
But now I’m older and you’ve gone away.
No other children have taken our place.
They say “It is a haunted space.”
Filled with the memories of a friend.
