The left side of luck

Unravelling the monsters

Time is not here — no seconds in this maze,
They have gone to carve lines elsewhere.
You want to explore the twisted ways,
You ask — if luck will let you dare?

Your favourite song is about emptiness,
To prove you are not afraid of it.
Unrecognised child, taken for less,
Each twisted tunnel is your forfeit.

If you are staying behind,
I will give you string to unwind —
So when you find your goal,
You will not lose everything else.

You will not lose everything else.
So when you find your goal —
The way back will be signed,
With twine and love combined.

The monster will not claim you,
Luck feeds it with her right hand.
So we will seep from view,
As these corridors fill with sand.

We will roll on luck’s left side,
While she neglects our pain.
Creep through the empty tide,
Until we are solid again.
